I read this article that really got me thinking. Can yoga actually help you process grief in a healthier way? Can it complement therapy or any other outlet you’ve been using since your loved on died?
According to this article, “If we don’t deal with the body, we can only get so far when dealing with bereavement.”
Especially, “since grief is something that must be worked through, not gotten over.”
For one, I completely agree with this sentence. I mention it in the mission of Too Damn Young — eventually, we’ll learn to walk side by side with grief. Getting over losing someone isn’t realistic. The love is still there. John Green, author of The Fault in Our Stars, echoes this same sentiment.
I’m definitely interested in seeing if yoga can help me become more in touch with how I’m feeling about losing my mom or losing my grandmother.
Have you ever tried yoga? Do you think that it can help when it comes to learning to live with grief?
