“There’s no room for anything but the truth.”
This was pretty much the theme for last night’s episode of Chasing Life.
The wise words came from a new character, who it seems we’ll be seeing a lot of in the coming episodes, Leo Hendrie. In a moment of confrontation with April, Leo explained why he did something (a MAJOR reason we’re not sure if we love him or love to hate him) by telling April that he’s basically just not about that lying life. Can’t hate him for that, can we?
On last night’s episode of Chasing Life April also did something that we’ve all been guilty of at one point or another. She exploded. She was holding too many things in for way too long, she was scared, she was frustrated, and she just let it all out on her sister, Brenna.
After Brenna let the ball drop with their mom, April could not take any more and quite literally screamed her secret (having cancer) to her sister.
In the first few episodes Brenna has turned into this character you love, but don’t necessarily expect to always do the right thing. That being said, she definitely surprised us and made us cry in the last 5 minutes of last night’s episode. Brenna came through for April by being by her side during her first biopsy. The feels were real.
Next week, April’s family stage an intervention to figure out what’s wrong with her:
