Penguin Teen is currently hosting an adventure of sorts on their social media accounts and Too Damn Young had to join in. The challenge is to hashtag Sarah Dessen on a shelfie (cute, right?) or when sharing your favorite quote from one of her books.
One of my favorite quotes was the first to go up on our instagram account:
Even though I’ve read every book Sarah Dessen has published, I decided to sift through Goodreads to see if I found any other great quotes. Turns out I had forgotten one that made my day because of its honesty:
If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last few years is that there’s nothing bad with grieving. As cliche as it may seem, it’s a natural process and can take form in any way. Leave it to the amazing Sarah Dessen to phrase the reality of grief so perfectly. Because even though grieving is a personal journey, it doesn’t make it something we should be ashamed of.
Don’t believe us, just look to Sarah Dessen for insight.
What’s your favorite Sarah Dessen quote or book? Have any of her books ever inspired you?
