FCancer and Andrew Jenks Team Up for A New Teen Contest

People are known to relate to stories. This is something that Andrew Jenks is betting on in order to get teens to share their own stories.

FCancer has partnered with The All American High School Film Festival to help high school students who have been touched by cancer share their story on a larger platform.

We all know Jenks from his MTV show, “World of Jenks”, but it may be news to some that he’s also big on giving back to the community at large. One way he does this is by hosting a yearly film festival that acknowledges young talent worldwide.

This year, for the first time, AAHSFF will have a category dedicated to cancer related PSAs or documentaries. He wants you to help change someone’s life simply by sharing the story behind yours.

The partnership between FCancer and AAHSFF will help to showcase a winning high school student’s story, while also promoting FCancer’s founding mission of early detection and prevention surrounding cancer.  If anyone knows the importance of sharing your story in hopes that it helps someone else, it’s FCancer’s Founder, Yael Cohen. (Or if you follow celeb news, now Yael Braun!)

You can enter your submission and get more details on the contest here.

Here’s what you can create to submit:

A PSA…

o   explaining how cancer changed your perspective (On life, on love, on loss?)

o   educating your audience about cancer and the importance of prevention and early detection.

o    based on personal experiences you have had with cancer showing us how no one battling the disease fights alone.

OR

A Documentary…

o    telling us how cancer has impacted your life.

o    portraying how you or someone you know has shown strength in the face of cancer.

o    detailing how you or someone you know raised money for cancer prevention.

o    showing us how no one battling the disease fights alone.

The important detail to remember when creating either a PSA or documentary to submit is that this is your story to tell.

Let us know below if you’ll be submitting anything!
