Tyler Robinson’s story proves that you’re so much more than just one identifier. Yes, he had cancer, but it’s his fighting spirit and awesome personality that I’m sure his family, friends, and the members of Imagine Dragons remember.
“People who go through hard things either become bitter and angry, or they learn from it and become stronger. He told me that I had a choice to make. From that night on I chose to be the bigger man.”
This is a sentence straight from Tyler’s story on the website for the Tyler Robinson Foundation. After a chance encounter at an Imagine Dragons concert, the band was so touched by Tyler’s story that they kept in touch.
Tyler successfully went through his rounds of chemo, but unfortunately passed away a few months after due to the cancer spreading to his brain. His legacy though? That lives on through the Tyler Robinson Foundation, which was founded by Imagine Dragons and Tyler’s family. Through this foundation you can help cover the expenses families accumulate when their child, or loved one, goes through cancer treatment.

Here’s what’s quoted to be one of Tyler’s favorite Imagine Dragons songs:
His favorite line? “the road to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell”
