After last night’s episode of Chasing Life there’s no way to write a recap without listing the top quotes of the night.
1. “We’ll get in touch with our fundamental selves” – Beth
After April and her mom paid a rather rocky visit to George (April’s doctor + uncle), April’s mom decides to host a meditation session for April. All the while she’s keeping some essential information from April, but more on that in a minute. April was not about the meditation, even if Beth tried to encourage it by adding her wit and humor.
2. “There’s no such thing as 5 minutes for me anymore, every minute counts.” – April
This was April’s response to her mom’s attempt at meditation, but it’s also a bigger theme of the whole episode. Because if there’s one episode where April really lived, it was this one.
3. “I’m not usually into labels, but I’d go there for you” – Kieran
Brenna is having a really hard time with everything that’s happening to April. But, surprise, surprise, instead of leaning on Kieran, who was all about making them official, she’s turning to Greer a lot more. I sense some tension coming up with these three.
4. “Pull your own strings for once. See how it feels” – Leo (!!!!!!!)
Okay, after much deliberation, I love Leo again. Especially because he got April to relax enough to have fun and realize that she may have cancer, but she still has power over her own life.
5. “I may have a brain tumor, but I’m not insane.” – Leo
This was probably my favorite quote of the entire night. It highlights how funny Leo is, but also how honest he is with himself and with others. (Something April can maybe learn from.)
6. “Worrying about the future is not living.” – LEO (!!!!!!!)
He literally has all the wisdom in the world. Everything he did in last night’s episode – taking April on his bike, hijacking a car, escaping from the hospital and challenging April to live – made me love him even more.
7. “Today we lived. This is living.” – Leo
This really needs little explanation. Other than that with Leo, April dares to live.
