A few weeks ago Ariana Grande took to Twitter to share that her grandfather had died. This past weekend she also took to Twitter to share some more bittersweet news. Ariana had decided to perform a song in her grandfather’s honor at the Stand Up To Cancer concert.
Given that Ariana and Frankie Grande’s grandfather died of cancer this was an extremely important moment for Ariana Grande. Here’s what she tweeted right before her performance:

It doesn’t take much to see how difficult it was for Ariana to keep it together while she performed “My Everything” live. The entire performance was as tearjerking and emotional as they come. Once she got off stage, Ariana tweeted: “sobbed my eyes out as soon as I got back. idk how he was just here & now he’s not & I’m singing a song in his honor. sucks a lot” A feeling everyone can relate to.
