Austin Butler, who got his rise to fame in The Carrie Diaries, announced on Twitter that his mom died on Thursday evening.

Our heart goes out to Austin in what we know is a really tough time. His girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens, has been by his side and offering her unconditional support. She’s also encouraging all of her Twitter followers to #CelebrateLori.
