Red Band Society’s Ergo Ergo episode brought us back into Ocean Park Hospital and with it it also brought a piece of wisdom:
“There is no right answer, you have to follow your gut.”
Dash said this to Emma in order to help her get through her love triangle dilemma, but it can actually be applied to a lot of different situations. When you’re grieving the loss of someone you love it sucks and is completely overwhelming to not know if you’re on the “right” track.
Honestly, the truly frustrating part is that you probably have no clue what the “right” track is because I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist. Like Emma with her Jordi and Leo dilemma, you have to be able to trust your gut and to accept that you’re living through the loss in the exact way you’re supposed to.
For Emma, her answer came in the form of Leo. (Sorry for the spoiler if you haven’t watched the episode yet) This isn’t something Jordi is too happy about, but he can join the Hot Doc, Nurse Jackson and Kara in not feeling to happy about the circumstances surrounding them.
They’re all battling through their own problems – for instance, Kara had to get a pacemaker and she’s also dealing with Hunter (new boy, new character and overall mystery boy). Hot Doc and Nurse Jackson are at odds and things won’t be getting any better any time soon, especially after Doc got Nurse Jackson suspended.
But, there’s a little bit of comfort in knowing that when things feel good, they feel really good. Take Emma and Leo’s closing scene of the episode. They were all kisses and giggles.
When you’re dealing with teen grief and a losing someone you love, sometimes nothing feels right, but sometimes things feel good.
