There’s always one line in a book, movie or new show that always sticks with you. These are the phrases you Instagram and tweet out with the hashtag #YES.
As I was reading Amy Poehler’s Yes Please, I found many lines with which I wanted to scream #YESPLEASE.
Below are lines (that for many, different reasons) I was drawn to:
- Writing is hard. (Technically a chapter title, but still so true)

I believe great people do things before they are ready.

Decide what your currency is early. Let go of what you will never have. People who do this are happier and sexier.

Going from crying to laughing that fast and hard happens maybe five times in your life and that extreme right turn is the reason why we are alive, and I believe it extends our life by many years.

I am reaching out because life goes by fast. I don’t want my one life to go by without expressing this to you.

Any painful experience makes you see things differently.

Someday you will wake up feeling 51 percent happy and slowly, molecule by molecule, you will feel like yourself again.

It’s easier to be brave when you’re not alone.

Let’s end by pointing out all the positive ways you can scare yourself and feel alive. You can tell someone you love them first.

You have to care about your work but not about the result.

Everybody is scared most of the time.

Emotions are like passing storms, and you have to remind yourself that it won’t rain forever.
