Living with anxiety is relatively new to me. After my grandmother passed away last March, I came out of a lifestyle that was highly rigid and extremely scheduled. No longer having the responsibility of caring for someone else throw me off course and I’ve been dealing with anxiety ever since.
In the last 10 months I’ve found three things that really help me when I’m dealing with anxiety:
(1) Writing
I’ve advocated for writing a lot and it’s because I really think it works. For me, it helps because it allows me to create a narrative of all the thoughts that are fighting for attention in my head. I’d love to know how it helps you!
(2) Cleaning
This is new to me. Cleaning was always a chore that I had to do, but now it’s something I enjoy and thrive on. The ability to focus on one thing and knowing that by the time I’m done I would have organized at least one aspect of my life, really really helps.
(3) 2048 x 2048
Say what you will but playing the game and focusing on the numbers always have a way to calm me down.
**This post comes to you after an intense cleaning session on Thursday because I just couldn’t kick the feeling of anxiousness.
How do you deal with anxiety?
